Where does Pakistan passport rank in February 2026?
Visa-free and on-arrival access reaches 32 destinations
DUBAI – Pakistan’s passport is ranked 97th in the February 2026 Henley Passport Index, with Pakistani nationals able to travel to 32 destinations without securing a prior visa.
The latest table places Pakistan in the lower tier of global mobility, based on visa-free, visa-on-arrival and basic eTA access across 227 destinations. The index covers 199 passports and is updated regularly using international travel data.
The new ranking represents an improvement from deeper lows recorded earlier in the decade, though overall access remains limited compared with regional and global leaders. The comparative model means shifts in other countries’ visa agreements can also influence Pakistan’s relative position.
Top performers
Singapore leads the 2026 ranking with 192 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea at 187. Sweden and the UAE share third with 186. Major European states dominate the upper tier, while the United States ranks 10th with 179 destinations. Afghanistan remains last with 24, highlighting the wide global mobility divide.
Pakistan passport – from 2006 to 2026
The 20-year historical chart shows Pakistan ranked 79th in 2006, then moved through the 80s before dropping to 90th in 2010. Rankings slid further to 99th in 2011 and 100th in 2012, improved slightly to the low 90s in 2013–2014, then fell to 107th in 2015. Positions hovered around 102nd to 104th between 2016 and 2020, reached a low of 113th in 2021, and then recovered gradually: 108th in 2022, 106th in 2023, 101st in 2024, 103rd in 2025, and 97th in February 2026.
Pakistan’s access total of 32 destinations includes a mix of visa-free, visa-on-arrival and limited electronic travel authorisations. Under index rules, destinations requiring pre-approved visas or full e-visa processing are not counted. Methodology is based on International Air Transport Association data and ongoing monitoring of entry requirements worldwide.
